The Perfect Martini

Many drinks go by the name "Martini"...

But there is only ONE martini.  The kind the Rat Pack used to drink on stage at the Sands.  A true martini has gin, dry vermouth, and olives.  After much experimenting, here is my recipe for the perfect martini.

You must start with the correct props:

  • Tanqueray No. TEN Gin
  • a Martini Mister filled with dry Vermouth
  • large olives, pimentos removed, and stuffed with bleu cheese
  • large martini glass
  • toothpick

    Preparation:
    1.  Put the Tanqueray No. TEN Gin in the freezer for at least an hour.
    2.  Put the large martini glass in the freezer for at least an hour.
    3.  Put the Martini Mister in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
    4.  Keep the blue cheese olives refrigerated.

    Mixologizing:
    1.  Spray one spritz of vermouth into the glass to create a fine layer.
    2.  Pour liberal amount of gin in martini glass.  (No shaking or stirring!)
    3.  Put two bleu cheese olive on a toothpick.
    4.  Put olives in martini glass.

That's all there is to it.  Serve immediately, and enjoy!
